Helen is an experienced Health and Safety Professional and a New Zealand Registered Nurse. She commenced her career in health and safety in 2004 in the gas and electricity distribution industries after a long career in Nursing and later, healthcare quality and patient safety. She has since applied her skills and knowledge in local and central government, electricity generation, civil construction, roading and primary health, gaining industry training and qualifications as she has progressed.

Helen has held a number of leadership roles, enjoys mentoring others and combines strong systems and policy development skills and experience with an extensive background in operational quality and safety which she has utilised to assist organisations to create tailored , integrated health and safety solutions. Helen has a particular interest in occupational health and the management of health risks in the workplace. She has applied this knowledge more recently to the development of wellbeing frameworks and the management of psychosocial risk in the workplace.

Helen is a registered Health and Safety Professional with NZISM and HASANZ, holds a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety from Massey University, a Post Graduate Certificate in Occupational Health and is completing a Master of Health Science (Occupational Health) through the University of Otago. Helen is based in rural Wairarapa.
